Hand Drawn Brush Repair and Refurbishing

Specialty brushes made with the fill material hand laced into a metal or plastic block or split core. Hand drawn brush construction is a variation of a stapled set brush. Individual tufts of fill material are sewn with a wire or nylon cord. An original block or split round core can be returned for refill multiple times provided the block or core is in good condition. Original block or split core is typically made of steel, aluminum, brass and occasionally leather and urethane. Fill material will wear down; hand drawn wire will be cut loose, and refilled with new filament in the original block. Photos show the steps to refurbish a hand drawn brush. Refilling service saves money and time for purchasing a new block or core.
