Info > Weatherstrip Brush Seals
Weatherstrip Brush Seals
Tanis Weatherstrip Brush Seals are easily installed around industrial rolling
steel,
sectional and sliding overhead doors and commercial sectional doors. Tanis Weatherstrip
Brush Seals provide an effective means to seal gaps around dock levelers and irregular
surfaces of thresholds at door bottoms. Brush seals are most effective preventing
air infiltration and reducing heating and cooling costs. Air infiltration means
interior air is being displaced by exterior air entering through gaps left unsealed.
Tanis Weatherstrip Brush Seals reduce the penetration of uninvited environmental
elements including dust, light, blowing dirt, sand, rain, snow, fumes, insects
and rodents.

Tanis Weatherstip Brush Seals are more effective than other weatherstrip products
such as vinyl, felt and neoprene. The filaments in the brush provide a longer lasting
product and weather-tight seal. Most common filaments used in strip brush seals are
nylon and polypropylene. Nylon provides a longer-life cycle and durability even in
the coldest temperatures. Nylon will stay flexible at 70 (degrees) below F where vinyl
and other materials can freeze and become brittle. In addition, nylon has a melting
point of 400 (degrees) F. Nylon filament flexibility conforms to the different contours
to tightly seal any opening. Polypropylene filament provides an alternative seal and
cost efficient option compared to nylon.
Weatherstrip brush seals are available in a variety of overall trim heights and lengths,
filament sizes and colors upon customer specifications. Aluminum holders are provided
in several profile shapes. Easy to mount and install,
aluminum holders are available in different lengths. Holders can be extruded in different
profile shapes upon customer request. Aluminum holders can be provided without or with
mounting holes and slots for faster installation. Most aluminum holders are provided
in a mill and clear anodize finish, but can be anodized or painted in several colors
of your choice.
